Personal Chef & Nutrition Coach — Baltimore

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions I hear most often. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to reach out directly.

What areas do you serve?

I serve clients throughout Baltimore City and the surrounding counties. Clients outside a 30-minute radius are welcome; a travel fee is quoted in advance and included in your proposal. If you're unsure whether you're within my service area, please reach out.

How much does personal chef service cost?

Every-other-week service starts at $650 per visit, plus the cost of groceries. Weekly service starts at $425 per visit, and occasional one-time visits start at $475. Pricing varies based on household size, number of meals requested, and dietary needs. During our consultation, I'll learn more about what you need and provide a customized quote.

Do you work with bariatric patients and clients taking GLP-1 medications?

Yes, and it's a significant part of my practice. When appetite is limited, every bite has to count. I build meals that lead with protein, portion for smaller volumes, and match textures to whatever post-operative stage you're in. As a board-certified nutrition coach, I can work from the plan your surgeon or dietitian has given you rather than around it. I'm not a registered dietitian and I don't replace your care team, and I'm glad to coordinate with your dietitian directly if that's useful.

How are groceries handled?

Groceries are billed separately at cost, with no markup. I'll shop for the ingredients needed for your approved menu and provide receipts for all purchases.

Do I need to be home while you cook?

No. Many clients choose to be away while I cook and return to a refrigerator stocked with meals. As long as I have access to your kitchen, I'll take care of the rest.

How often do you cook for clients?

Most clients book every other week. I cook a larger batch designed to carry you through two weeks, which means one cook day instead of two. Weekly service and occasional one-time visits are also available.

If you cook every other week, will the food still be good at the end?

Yes, because I don't ask the refrigerator to do work it can't do. Cooked food is safe in the refrigerator for three to four days, so that's the window I plan your first meals around. Everything meant for later in the cycle is portioned and frozen on cook day, while it's at its freshest, and labeled with reheating instructions. You move a container to the refrigerator the night before you want it. It means the meal you eat on day twelve was frozen on day one rather than sitting in the refrigerator that whole time. If you'd rather not use your freezer, weekly service is the better fit and we'll talk that through during your consultation.

Can I request specific meals?

Absolutely. One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to know my clients and creating meals they'll genuinely enjoy. Whether there's a family favorite you'd love to see on the menu or a new cuisine you'd like to explore, I'll work with you to create meals that fit your tastes and goals.

Can you accommodate food allergies and special diets?

Yes. I regularly accommodate food allergies, food sensitivities, gluten-free diets, low-FODMAP diets, vegetarian preferences, and other specialized dietary requirements. I'm also glad to coordinate directly with your physician or nutrition team so we're working from the same plan.

What happens during the consultation?

We'll discuss your favorite foods, dietary needs, allergies, health goals, household size, cooking preferences, and any foods you'd rather avoid. This conversation helps me create menus that feel personalized and realistic for your lifestyle.

What do I need to provide?

You'll need a functional kitchen with basic cookware, refrigerator space for prepared meals, and basic pantry staples such as oils, spices, and condiments. We'll discuss this during your consultation.

Will my kitchen be clean when you leave?

Yes. Before I leave, I'll clean the kitchen and return it to the condition I found it in. The only evidence I've been there should be the meals waiting for you in the refrigerator.

Do you offer meal delivery?

At this time, I primarily provide in-home personal chef services. Cooking in your home allows me to keep costs down and ensure your meals are prepared and stored exactly the way you'd like.

Are you insured?

Yes. I am ServSafe certified and carry professional liability insurance for your peace of mind and mine.

Do you offer dinner parties and special events?

Yes. I offer intimate dinner parties for up to 8 guests as well as cocktail parties, showers, brunches, and other small gatherings. Every event menu is customized to your preferences and the style of event you're hosting.

How far in advance should I book an event?

I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and holiday seasons. If your event is coming up soon, please reach out anyway. I may still have availability.

How do I get started?

Simply reach out through the contact form to schedule a complimentary consultation. I'd love to learn more about you, your goals, and how I can help make mealtimes easier and more enjoyable.
